Treat Yourself to a Day of Professional Development

Join us for the 5th Annual Women in the Law Conference at the School of Law on Friday, May 3. The conference highlights key issues that are important to women attorneys. We emphasize practical, useful information to take away from the full day’s programming to further develop your career – whatever that means for you. As always, the day will feature incredibly talented speakers from diverse backgrounds and small discussions groups for topics of interest after the larger panel discussion so that attendees can delve even deeper into areas of interest. Additionally, we have reprised the very popular “speed mentoring” program which enables you to seek career advice and suggestions one-on-one with experienced attorneys from various practice areas and settings. This thought-provoking conference is also open to non-NUSL grads. Don't miss this critical networking opportunity, which frequently results in business development. Spread the word and bring your colleagues. We invite you to register now!

For more details and a full list of panelists, please visit our conference page or contact Eileen Hommel at e.hommel@neu.edu.

The LLM Program is Growing!
Next Up: Health Law!

The vibrant new LLM program at the School of Law is growing by leaps and bounds! This fall, in addition to the general LLM program, we are offering a specialization in health policy and law. Designed to meet the needs of lawyers already in the field looking to hone their skills, as well as lawyers hoping to enter this rapidly expanding practice area, the program is the proud progeny of Northeastern's Program on Health Policy and Law. LLM students specializing in Health Policy will be able to take advantage of the university's duly vaunted interdisciplinary prowess by choosing from course offerings all over campus: at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business, at Bouvé College of Health Sciences, and at Northeastern’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Also launching this fall: a new two-year LLM + MA in Sustainable International Development, the next step in a dynamic partnership with the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University!

Help NUSL spread the word! If you or anyone you know would like to learn more about the LLM program, please contact Patrick Cassidy, Director of LLM and International Programs, at p.cassidy@neu.edu.

Chicago Regional Chapter Social a Success!

A group of Chicago area alums met at Emilio's Sol y Nieve on March 14, for tapas, drinks, good cheer, and top-shelf career advice from Kathy Morris, '75, founder of Under Advisement, Ltd.

"We had a fantastic time eating the delicious food, discovering our commonalities, and providing each other with support. I think, in the bigger picture, this is what a successful job search is all about: reaching out to people in the legal community, finding a common ground, and creating relationships," said Christine K. Wee '01, Chicago Regional Chapter Representative.
