NUSL Newsbriefs   October 2013

Eve Strother '00, President of the NUSL Alumni/ae Association

Eve Strother is the board president of the 2013-14 Alumni/ae Association. "I love my school!" Eve said. "Attending Northeastern was part of the fulfillment of my destiny. I know it sounds like a cliché but at one point my goal of being a lawyer seemed almost completely lost. A series of unexpected assists and quite a bit of sheer doggedness got me in the door. I do what I love now. I feel I had the best possible legal education available from Northeastern. That's why I have served on the board since graduation and will do anything I can to help the students and faculty."

Eve is a deputy general counsel at the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Her focus is on administering, advising, and assisting the department on real estate-related agreements with various types of parties (municipalities, state and city agencies, private parties, and advocacy groups) as well as construction contracts, state procurement, general policy development, and staff management. Eve was instrumental in preparing a new model of permit offering, leading to increased revenues for the department.
