An evening with Carla Kaplan

Join fellow alumni, parents, students, and friends in New York City on Dec. 2 to meet award-winning professor and writer Carla Kaplan, the Stanton W. and Elisabeth K. Davis Distinguished Professor of American Literature at Northeastern University.

Professor Kaplan will share and discuss excerpts from her latest book, “Miss Anne in Harlem: The White Women of the Black Renaissance” (Harper, 2013), which explores the role of white women in the black renaissance of New York’s Harlem neighborhood in the 1920s and '30s. A book signing will follow.

$10 per person
$5 of your total event fee will benefit The Black Alumni Scholarship in the John D. O'Bryant African American Institute
