Spotlight

Brooke Roberts, AS'04

Growing up in a tiny town in Kansas with limited exposure to the outside world, Brooke Roberts nourished her imagination through frequent trips to the public library. As she says in her biography on her website, insidestudyabroad.com, “I was able to travel the world and live through the experiences of others from the comfort of a porch swing.”

But it wasn’t long before she began embarking on her own worldly adventures. Roberts took a two-week trip through France and Spain during high school but her international experience expanded vastly when she enrolled at Northeastern after transferring from Missouri Southern State University. Her experiences included a semester abroad at Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland, a summer in France at the Universite d’Orleans, and another semester in England studying at the London School of Economics and interning in the British Parliament.
